Festival Toolbox

Checklist and tips when coming to the festival. Torch for late night strolls to the toilet. Chair for long days in front of the stage. Sunblock.

At all Festival’s it is good to remember the old Scout motto – Be Prepared.

Check out our forum for many more tips more…

Or take a moment to review some solid advice here. Roughing it and turning up with only the clothes on your back is great if you meet up with someone staying over in a R.V.!

Day tripper?

Make sure you book with a designated driver, just in case. There will be several buses from local cities so book up early. More…

Camping?

Then set up your gear, including air mattress, at home and make sure you have all the bits and you know how it goes together. A roll of duck tape is always handy! Choose your spot wisely and respect your neighbour.

Clothing

light layers is always best. Start with the sun outfit and layer up as you imagine it getting colder and wetter. Don’t forget your head!

Sunscreen

Sun block is best and bright colours just add to the festival flavour. Plenty of shade around but nothing beats lazing in the sun.

Drink.

Spring water available free, so bring a large insulated mug and you got it covered. Many other hot and cold drinks available and the insulated mug works well for both, plus great for a drink to take to bed!

Food.

Many tasty styles available during the day or bring a little stove. There are several fire pits that can be used.

Practical Extras.

A whole host of extra items can also come in handy, especially if you are not carrying it; large towel, tarp, bin bags, ropes, extra pegs, tissues, dry foods, penknife, LED wind up torch, small padlock for the tent, baby wipes, aluminium folding chair, and the ubiquitous guitar.

Luxuries.

Batteries, iPod, sunglasses, whistle, snack bars, canned foods, do not take anything that can go off in the heat. Your stomach will thank you.

Rubbers.

A very practical addition. Both meanings of the word.

First Aid.

Saint John’s Ambulance are on site but they don’t do hangover cures!

Most importantly – Respect others and enjoy yourself!!
